ELGIGANTEN FIELDS, KBH

Elgiganten Fields in Copenhagen optimizes significantly on energy and the environment by switching to LINIA LED lighting.

Elgiganten has switched from traditional fluorescent lighting to highly efficient LED systems, which create synergy on several fronts. With extended opening hours of 3700 hours annually, and an increasingly consumer-oriented approach to the presentation of the product range in the sales premises, the requirement for light quality, comfort and energy consumption is briught into sharp focus.

Most noticeable is the reduction of energy consumption. Elgiganten Fields achieves an energy saving of approx. 40% and a reduction in CO2 emissions of 32 tonnes. The electricity saving means that the additional investment on LED has been repaid in less than 5 years. The lighting system in the sales area of approx. 2200 m2 is made for min. 1000lux (light intensity), which during normal fluorescent lamp installation, consumes over 160,000 kwh annually, corresponding to a CO2 emission of 85 tons. The new LINIA LED system has a total annual consumption of approx. 98000 Kwh, corresponding to a CO2 emission of 53 tonnes.
